Madikeri
Madikeri is the district headquarters of Coorg with about 28,729 population and 1200 meters altitude. Muddurajakeri named after the first ruler Mudduraja from this place since 1681 later became Madikeri. It is a picturesque hill town with Palace inside Fort, Omkareshvar temple, Raja’s tomb, Raja's seat, Abbey falls. Madikeri is about 120 Kms from Mysore and takes about 2.30 Hrs. From Bangalore it is around 250 kms and takes about 6 hours to reach Madikeri.

Kushalnagar
Kushalnagar is an amazing place to visit in Coorg and a great picnic spot too. The climate in Kushalnagar is completely different from other places in Coorg. The humidity level is much higher compared to Madikeri.

Iruppu Falls (Irpu Falls)
This is a sacred place called Iruppu in south Coorg on the Brahmagiri range of hills. River Lakshmana-tirtha flows nearby. According to legends Rama and Lakshmana, passed this way in search of Sita. Lakshmana shot an arrow into the Brahmagiri hills and brought into being the river Lakshmana tirtha when Rama asked him to fetch some water. The river descends into a water fall known as the Irupu Falls. This place is said to possess the power to cleanse one's sins and is visited by thousands of devotees on Shivaratri day.

Raja's Seat
According to legends and folklore, the Kodagu Kings spent their evenings in this place, which is a spectacular garden in the town of Madekari. One can have an impressive view of the sunset from this place.

Nagarahole National Park
This wildlife sanctuary, which shelters elephants, tigers, spotted deer, leopards, bison, peacocks and other exotic wildlife, is a favorite among the tourists. There are lodging facilities inside the park, which makes it a much-visited tourist spot.

Abbey Falls
Located amidst a valley in a coffee-cardamom plantation, 7 km from Madikeri, are the Abbery Falls. With water falling from a height of 70 ft, this is a famous waterfall and a much-visited picnic spot of Coorg.

Talacauvery
Talacauvery is the birthplace of the river Cauvery and is located at a distance of 44 km from Madikeri. A major religious site, it is visited by local Coorgs and even people from Tamil Nadu and other nearby states. They visit the place to take a dip in its holy waters.

Omkareshwara Temple
Built in 1820 AD by Lingaraja, this is a well-known temple in Coorg. With its immaculate architecture, that blends Gothic and Islamic style, this temple is believed to be dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Bhagamandala
Bhagamandala is a famous shrine, where river Cauvery merges with the rivers Kannike and Sujyothi and forms the "Triveni Sangama". It is located on the bank of the Sangama River and has been built in the Kerala style of architecture.

Somwarpet
The sprawling coffee plantation with towering trees is a fabulous treat to the eyes. Heady smell of cardamom and pepper would perk you up.

Madikeri Fort
Madikeri Fort, located at Madeikeri, was built in the 19th century. The monument houses a chapel, a temple, a prison and a museum inside. One can have a breathtaking view of the whole Madikeri town from this fort.

Golden Temple
Golden Temple is the recently built Namdrolling Monastery, and is located in Bylakoppa, 6 km from Kushalnagar. It is also the 2nd largest Tibetan settlement in India. 3 majestic 40 ft gold plated idols of Buddha, Padmasambhava, Amitayush can be seen.

Dubare Elephant Camp
18 km from Kushalnagar, is Dubare Elephant Camp, located on a beautiful natural island. The state run Jungle Lodges and Resorts takes care of the upkeep of this camp. There are 12 tamed elephants here, and visitors can take free elephant rides.

Nisarga Dhama
Nisarga Dhama is a popular picnic spot in the Coorg district, about 35 km from Madikeri. Located on the river Cauvery, it is a man-made island built in 1988, and spreads over 35 acres. Pedal boats, elephant rides and a deer park are major interests here.

Harangi Dam
Harangi Dam is a beautiful reservoir and large dam on the Cauvery River, located near Hudgur village, in north Coorg, 36 km from Madikeri. The dam is an ideal place for a picnic, and there are some short walks along designated paths in lush greenery.
