1. The best time to visit is between the months of October and March.
2. Mahamastakabhisheka : This ceremony of the 17.38m high statue of Lord Bahubali at the Indragiri Hills is celebrated grandly after every 12 years. On this occasion, the statue is smeared with thousands of pots of coconut oil, yoghurt, ghee, bananas, jaggery, dates, almonds, poppy seeds, milk, saffron and sandalwood.
3. Cave of Bhadrabahu where the Sacred feet of Sritakavalli is worshipped, is another tourist attraction here.

1. Chandragiri : You can see the Chandragupta Basadi of the Gangas and the Parashwanatha Basadi here, besides several Jain temples. There is also a famous temple built by Chamundaraya.
2. Lord Gomateshwara Statue : The foot of the Vindhyagiri Hills is the residence of the 1000 year old statue of Lord Gomateshwara. It is considered to be the world's largest statue. It was constructed by Chamundaraya who was the general king under Gangaraya. The base of the statue has several inscriptions written in the Kanadian language.
These inscriptions cite the history of the Gangas, Rashtrakutas, Hoysala and the Vijaynagar Empire. Shravanabelagola is the place where we can also come across the famous Bhattaraka Math. It belongs to the custom of the Monasteries. Every year a ceremony named the Mahamastakabhisheka is performed in Shravanabelagola.
3. Jinanathapura : Located north of Shravanabelagola, this place has the Aregal Basadi and the Shantinatha Basadi of Hoysala times.
4. Inscriptions : More than about 800 inscriptions related to Shravanabelagola are found here, belonging to the period before 10th century. Some of them are recording death by starving (sallekhana) by Jain ascetics and laymen.
5. Bhattaraka Math : This Math belongs to the Desiya Gana lineage of Mula Sangha of Digambar monastic tradition.
