Subramanya is a pilgrim center in the Sullia Taluk in South Kanara district, believed to be the abode of Subramanya, the son of Lord Shiva. The Kukke Subrahmanya Temple is located in the heart of the village.

FACTS ABOUT SUBRAMANYA
1. Pilgrims going to the Subramanya Temple have to cross the Kumaradhara River and take a holy dip in it before they go on to the temple to have their darshan holy viewing of the Lord.
2. Sarpa Samskara/Sarpa Dosha is one of the poojas performed at this temple by devotees to get rid of the sarpa dosha.
3. Kukke Subrahmanya Temple is regarded as one of the seven Mukti stala pilgrimage sites of Karnataka.
4. The Poojas in the Sri Subrahmanya Temple are conducted according to 'Vaikanasa Agama'. The temple is opens at 5 a.m. and the God is woken up to the accompaniment of Nadaswaram.
5. Kumaraparvatha and Yadakumeri Railway tunnels are considered to be adventurous spots here which are worth a visit.
6. On the way to Uppinangadi, 10km. away from temple town there is a CPCRI established under central plantation crops research institute in 1972.
