Shreemanthi Bai Memorial Museum
It is situated in Bejai 4 Km. away from Nehru Maidan city Bus Stand. One can see the idols, materials of historical importance here.
The Government of India established the archaeological museum named Shreemanthi Bai Memorial Government Museum at Mangalore in the state of Karnataka in the year 1960. It was established in order to store the historical objects of Mangalore and the allied areas. Presently, the museum is a storehouse of materials of art, archaeology, ethnology, woodcarvings, porcelain objects, palm leaf photographs, paper paintings, manuscripts, sculptures, oil paintings, metal objects and paper manuscripts. People interested to visit the museum may come between 9am to 5pm except Monday.

Pelikula Nisargdhama
Pilikula in Tulu literally means Tiger Pond is located in Mudushedde village 3 kms from Vamanjoor and 18 kms from Mangalore City. It was established in 1990 but not until 10 years later has become popular among residents of Mangalore and for people from outside.
The Zoo at the moment houses varieties of animals though in small numbers. It has deers of different kinds, wild boars, tigers, leopard, lion, and snakes both poisonous and non poisonous, porcupines and few birds.

Vamanjoor
Vamanjoor is a small town in the Coastal city of Mangalore in Karnataka, India, close to Kudupu and Gurupura . Vamanjoor is famous for many historic as well as geographical reasons. It is also home for the first ever and the only Catholic Engineering institute in Karnataka, St. Joseph Engineering College. Famous tourist attractions in Vamanjoor include Pilikula Nisargadhama and Manasa water park.

Tagore Park
On the top of the lighthouse hill 2 km from Mangalore is the Light House an 18-century-old monument inside the Tagore Park standing, adjacent to the Idgha- a place where the Muslims offer pooja during their festivals. An ancient chapel called St. Aloysius College Chapel is situated by the side of the Lighthouse. The walls and roof of the chapel are decorated with paintings depicting Bibilical stories. An Italian Jesuist Fr. Mocheni did the paintings. Next to the chapel stands an 18-century-old St. Aloysius College, which is a reputed educational institution

Kadri park
Kadri Park is a garden , 5 km from the city near AIR studios. It is located in Kadri gudde ( meaning hill in Tulu ). It's the largest park within city limits of Mangalore The park has beautifully laid gardens along with a Snake Park, zoo and a toy train. A view of the Kadri Park Its a nice hangout place/picnic spot for children, couples, young & old.

New Mangalore Port at Panamboor
Mangalore Port is a modern all-weather port situated at Panambur, Mangalore (Karnataka State in South India), on the West Coast of India, 170 nautical miles South of Mormugao & 191 nautical miles North of Cochin Port.
The New Mangalore Port was declared as the 9th Major Port on 4th May 1974 and was formally inaugurated by the former Prime Minister of India, Smt. Indira Gandhi on 11th January 1975

Sultan Battery
4 km from Mangalore, Sultan Battery of Boloor is a watchtower built in black stones. Tipu Sultan made this mini-fortress type with arrangements for loading cannons, splendidly beautiful, watchtower to prevent warships from entering River Gurupur. The remaining part of the fort is called Tipu's Well and is deserted today.

Venur
50 km from Mangalore, it is a small town known for its eight Jain bastis and the Mahadeva temple. The early 17th century 11-m-high Bahubali statue can be seen on the southern bank of the Gurupur River.

Mudabidri
35 km from Mangalore, Mudabidri has 18 Jain bastis and 15th century Chandranatha temple or the 1000-pillar hall.

Karkal
20 km from Mudabidri, Karkal has many important temples and a 15th century 13m high Bahubali statue situated on a small hillock on the outskirts of the town. This point offers excellent views of the Western Ghats.

Panambur Beach
213Km from Mangalore on the north of the National Highway is the Panambur beach. On the 11th of Jan 1975, as the 9th Major port of the country the new Mangalore port was opened near Panambur. For visitors a pass is to be obtained from the Secretary Mangalore Harbour Port Administrative Office. In the vicinity of the Port lies the Mangalore chemical and Fertilizers Factory and the Kudremukh Iron Ore Factory. The iron ore from Kudremukh and other accessories are transported from this port.

Mangala Devi Temple
Mangalore City got its name from the Mangaladevi Temple. Earlier, the city was called Mangalapur, which slowly got changed to Mangalore. The temple is visited by pilgrims from around the country. Goddess Mangaladevi is believed to be a form of Goddess Shakti. The temple is situated at a distance of 3 km form the city center and can be easily reached by road.

Kadri Manjunatheswara Temple
Kadri Temple which is situated in Kadri hills, is dedicated to Lord Manjunatheshwara. Built around 10th century, the temple has the oldest statue of Lord Manjunathaswamy in South India. Kadri Temple is famous for the holy water that flows through the gap, in the shape of a cow's head called 'Gomukha'. It is said that the water has curing effects. For taking a bath in the water, many pilgrims come here from all over the world. The temple is also famous for the Pandava Guha.

Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara Temple
Situated in the city of Mangalore, this beautiful temple is the abode of Lord Gokarnatha, another name for Lord Shiva. Compared to the other temples in and around Mangalore this temple was built pretty recently.
This temple was built by a devotee called H. Koragappa in the year 1912. Shri Narayana Guru, the great saint and philosopher who had visited Mangalore in the year 1912, expressed his wish that the Billavas should build a temple for Lord Shiva in the city. Accordingly Koragappa who belonged to the Billava family built the temple at a place which was believed to be the graze land for the horses during the rule of Tipu Sultan. Hence the name Kudre (horse) vali which transformed into kudroli over time.

Venkataraman Temple
n the north direction of Mangalore on the N.H 17 highway road at a distance of 28 Km, on the riverbank of Shambavi is situated a famous temple of Shri Venkatramana. The temple belongs to 1277 A.D. In the temple the images of Venkatramana, Bindu Madhava, Vittala and Ugra Narasimha are worshiped. The history of the place indicates that Shri Vijayendra Yathi of Kashimutt installed the image of Ugra Narasimha belonging to Vijayanagar here in 1565. Mulki was earlier known as Mulikapur. In course of time Mulikapur changed to Mulki. Samantha kings who had donated "Inams" to this temple ruled this place. Now one can see the palace and the old ruins of the fort of Samantha Kings. The Bappanadu Durga Parameshwari Temple and twin temple of Somanath and Narayana are the other shrines of the Mulki. A buffalo race called "Arasu Kambala" also annually held here.

Shri Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple
Shri Sharavu Mahaganapathi temple complex houses many shrines dedicated to Sharavu, Kadri, Mangaladevi and Kudroli but the one that stands out the most is the 800-year old shrine of Sri Sharavu Sharabeshwara in the Sri Mahaganapathi Kshetra.

Lord Krishna Temple
Lord Krishna Temple is situated in Udupi - 60 Km from Mangalore. The temple is famous for a unique statue of Lord Krishna. The idol is heavily decorated with magnificent real jewels and gems. Another famous attraction of the temple is a small window called 'Kanakana Kindi'. It is said that Lord Krishna once gave his darshan to an ardent devotee, who was not allowed inside the temple because of his lower caste. The temple is now considered as a center for education, cultural and religious programmes.

Shanmukha Subramanya Temple
A well-famed temple, inside the dense forest bordering the Western Ghats, is situated and is called Subramanya. The original name was Kukke as "Kukke" or basket by the priest of the temple had covered the Kukkelinga. Now this linga is inside the inner courtyard of the Subramanya Temple. The temple cart is nearly 150 years old. On the bank of river Kumaradhara a small shrine of Subramanya called "Mooladevaru" is also situated. It is a sacred pilgrimage to Hindus.
