A MUST VISIT
1. Sankara Mutt :
Located at Mutt Street in Kumbakonam, it lies on the banks of River Cauvery. You can find classes in Vedas and religious preaching offered here. In front of the mutt is located the brindavans of the 3 Jagath Guru Acharyas.
2. Ragavendra Mutt :
Located on the southern side of the River Cauvery, the Ragavendra Mutt is considered to be holier than the Mantralaya. It is believed that Swami Ragavendra has visited this place. Thursdays are considered to be a very important day here.
3. Veda Patashala :
Established by the Tanjore Maharaja in the 17th century, the Veda Patasala is 300 years old. Traditionally dressed students can be seen taking Veda classes in the premises. Dont miss this place when you visit Kumbakonam.
