Set amidst the lush green landscapes of Eastern Ghats, Tirupati is the abode of the lord of the seven hills - Lord Venkateshvara. The shrine of “Kaliyuga” deity Lord Venkateswara, widely known as Balaji, is the richest temple in the world.

Tirupati is located in the extreme southeast of the southern state of Andhra Pradesh. It is situated in the Chittoor district of the state.
TIRUPATI ATTRACTIONS
Akasha Ganga, a perennial water spout said to flow from the feet of the deity, is at a distance of 3 km from the main temple. This water is used for temple rituals. Swami Pushkarini is a sacred pond in which devotees take a dip before entering the main temple. According to legends this celestial pond of heaven was brought to earth by Garuda for Lord Venkateswara.
Sila Thoranam, an ancient natural arch is a very rare spectacle. This rare geological arch is said to be one of the very few such natural arches of the world. It is just a 20 minute walk from Sri Varahaswamy temple.
Lepakshi Emporium is an ideal place for purchasing attractive handicrafts at moderate prices.This is situated near Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Central Reception Office. T.T.D Gardens The Devasthanams maintain beautiful ornamental gardens with rare species of plants and trees.

Airways
Tirupati airport is located at Renigunta, which is about 15 km away from the city. Regular flights are available from Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore to Tirupati.
Railways
Tirupati Railway Station is connected by trains from Bangalore, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Madurai and Mumbai. A major railhead nearby is Renigunta, which is 15 km away.
Roadways
Almost every town and city of Andhra Pradesh is connected with Tirupathi by regular bus services. The town is linked by road to Ahobolam, Bangalore, Horsley Hill, Hyderabad, Kalahasti, Lepakshi, Chennai, Srisailam, Vijayawada and Renigunta.
