Kukke Sri Subrahmanya temple
Kukke Sri Subrahmanya temple located on the banks of river Kumaradhara at Kukke is dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya (Murugan). The deities worshipped here are the serpant Vasuli and Lord Subrahmanya. A Garuda pillar with silver casing is positioned between the sanctuary and the lately constructed portico. It is said that the pillar was captivated and erected in order to shelter the people from the blaze of poison emanating from the breathing of Vasuki housed inside. Thipooyam is the chief festival in this temple and lots of devotees visit here during this festival. The temple has its place as a sacred, divine and powerful in the minds of its devotees.

Vedavyasa Samputa Narasinmha Temple
Vedavyasa Samputa Narasinmha Temple, founded by Sri Madhvacharya, is situated on south eastern part of the temple of Subrahmanya. Mythology tells that the idols of Vedavyasa Samputa and Lakshmi Narasimha were handed over by Vedavyasa to Madhavacharya for installation in the shrine. Narasimha Jayanthi is the main festival here and attracts lots of devotees. The people who reach Kukke Subrahmanya temple worship Lord Narasimha in this temple. The temple is managed by Swamiars of Subrahmanya Mutt. This temple has paramount importance among the local and is a nice calm religious place to visit.

Shringeri
Shringeri, named after the Rishyasringa – a phenomenal saint character in the great epic Ramayana, is a sacred city on the banks of Tunga river. Indian mythology says that Rishyasringa was the chief priest at the great sacrifice of King Dashrath, the unequal incident mentioned in Ramayana. Sringeri is well-known for Sri Sarada Samsthanam, founded by Adi Shankaracharya in the 7th century. There are some spots of attractions in Sringeri, including a 14th century Vidyashankara temple. The temple is renowned for its architectural brilliance that exemplifies the artistic evolution from Hoysala to Vijayanagar approach. Sringeri is a scenic spot formidably placed along the river.

Subrahmanya Mutt
The Subrahmanya Mutt, located in the south-east part of the temple Subrahmanya, belongs to Dwaitha tradition of Madhwa religion. The legend has it that Sri Madhwacharya allowed his brother Vishnu Thirthacharya to become his disciple and gave the responsibility of this Mutt to him, bringing a second name Vishnuthirthacharya’s Samshtana. This religious institution, Subrahmanya Mutt, apart from philosophical activities, is actively involved in cultural, social and other important regional activities. The institution is trying to revitalize the dying ancient culture by generating interests in art and religion among various people through a number of functions and well planned programmes.

Adi Subrahmanya
Adi Subrahmanya in Kukke Subrahmanya, a very famous and important religious destination, is a shrine situated near the Subrahmanya temple. The temple with simple tiled roofs houses a group of prehistoric anthills worshipped as Vasuki and Adisesha. The place is really scenic, placed in the midst of lush green forests and mountain streams. The prasad given to devotees is mrittika (earth) from the anthills, which is assumed to be a good cure for skin diseases.

Hosaligamma Shrine
The Hosaligamma temple, with mother Goddess Hosalingamma as the deity, is placed south of the Subrahmanya temple. This shrine encloses one more deity known as Purusharaya. It is believed that these deities are the bodyguards of Lord Subrahmanya, the main idol in Subrahmanya temple.
Kunkumarchana and Mangalarathi are some of the main offerings in this temple. Hosaligamma and Purusharaya deities are traced back to very ancient times and the Kaumarika Khada of the ‘Skandapurana’ mentions about these two deities. This is a very nice shrine for a secluded visit.

Biladwara Cave
Biladwara is a revered cave on the way from the Subrahmanya temple to the Kumaradhara river in Kukke Subrahnabya. According to Hindu mythology, the serpent God Vasuki was taking protection from Garuda in this cave and was making self-punishment. The cave with naturally made entrance and an exit is about 10 meters in length. One can go into the cave and blessed with the view of the sacred cave of serpent Vasuki. Biladwara is effortlessly accessible place and the cave is superb and marvelous.

Trekking
The adventurous tourists can trek in the terrains of Kumara Parvata and nearby forests. There are no roads leading to the mountains. To reach Kumara Parvata, one has to climb Sesha Parvatha. There are some trekking trails in Kumara Parvata. Trek to the top of Kumara Parvatha which is 4000 ft above sea level and the trek will take you through dense green forest as well as some rocky terrain. The railway tracks from Sakleshpur to Kukke Subrahmanya extend makes for a grand trek with its several tunnels and bridges, thick evergreen forests, streams and rivers. These treks are very challenging and the reminiscences will remain long after one has returned to the high-speed life of the large cities.

Matsya and Panchami Tirthas
Matsya, a sacred thirtha, is a place where pilgrims can take bath and absolve themselves from sins of their life. It's located on the river Kumaradhara. Brindavanas of swamis of the Subrahmanya Matha are located in a nearby place called Panchami Tirtha near the Kumara Dhara river.
An attraction near here is the celebrated Somanatha temple, which attracts many devotees to its fold. These two tirthas, Matsya and Panchami, are considered as very holy and it is believed that taking bath in these thirthas assures all the goodness of life.

Kumara Parvata
Kumara Parvata, a division of the Western Ghats, is one of the splendid peaks in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka with a height of about 4,000 ft. It provides a great sight of lights of Somawarpet town, from the top of the Parvata. It stands as a imposing picturesque background to the Kukke Subrahmanya Swamy Temple. The white stones seen atop the Kumara Parvata are believed as Saligramams and Shivalingas having six faces, and are known as Kumaralingas. This is a popular trekking spot in Kukke and many adventurous tourists visit here to have this beautiful but difficult treks in Kumara Parvata.

Mullaiyanagiri Peak
Mullaiyanagiri hilltop, the highest peak in the state of Karnataka, has an overall height of 6,317 ft above sea level. Mullaiyanagiri is the highest mountain peak between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris and is to the north of Chikmagalur town. It is one of the peaks in the Baba-Budan Range, known anciently as Chandra Drona Parvatha. The temple of Bijli Mahadev is constructed at the top of Mullaiyanagiri peak. Nearly 300 steps made of stones lead to this temple. It is assumed that Lord Shiva appeared here to protect the devotees from a lightning strike. The absorbing scenery around the peak makes it a much frequented tourist spot.

Bisle Ghat
Bisle near to Kukke Subrahmanya, a small cute village in the heartland of Western Ghats, comprises Bisle Reserve Forest, having to its the credit some of India's most special rain forests. There is a location - Bisle Betta or Bisle view point, acclaimed as the beauty spot, from where one can vividly see the mountain ranges of Kumara Parvatha, Puspha Giri, Enni Kallu, Dodda Betta and Patta Betta. The characteristic of this point is that the panoramic scenic view has a valley wherein Giri river separates this niche spot and these mountain ranges. The forest department has erected a camp here to sit and enjoy the enchanting view. Bisle Ghat is an ideal place for trek enthusiasts in Subrahmanya. The place is blessed with panoramic scenery.
